How the Grow a Garden value formula actually works
Most calculators multiply every mutation together and hand you a number that is far too big. That is the single most common reason a trade looks great on a website and terrible in game.
Grow a Garden separates mutations into two different groups that behave differently, and the calculator above respects that split.
Growth mutations multiply
Silver, Gold and Rainbow are growth mutations. Only one can be on a crop at a time, and it multiplies the whole value. A Gold crop is worth twenty times the plain version.
Environmental mutations add
Wet, Chilled, Shocked, Celestial and the rest are environmental. They do not multiply each other. Each one contributes its multiplier minus one, and the total gets added to a base of one.
Worked example. A crop with Wet (2x) and Chilled (2x) is not worth 4x. It is worth 1 + (2-1) + (2-1) = 3x. Stack Gold on top and the growth multiplier applies to that whole figure, giving 20 x 3 = 60x.
Weight is squared
Value scales with the square of the weight ratio, not linearly. A crop at double its normal weight is worth roughly four times as much, not twice. There is also a floor: anything under 0.95 of base weight is treated as 0.95, so tiny crops are not punished further.
How to use this calculator
- Get the base value. Hold a plain version of the crop with no mutations and read the sell price. Type it into the base value box.
- Enter your weight. The kg figure appears on the fruit when you hold it.
- Tick your mutations. Use the search box if the list is long. Growth mutations are exclusive, so picking Rainbow clears Gold automatically.
- Set your friend boost if other players are in your server.
- Open the math box to see every step. If a number looks wrong you can spot exactly where.
Why this calculator does not go out of date
Grow a Garden patches constantly. Every other calculator hard codes hundreds of crop values, which means the moment the developers rebalance anything, those sites are quietly wrong and you find out during a trade.
This one asks you for the base value instead. The number you read off your own screen is always current, so the math on top of it is always right. It is one extra step and it removes the entire staleness problem.
Reading a trade before you accept it
- Run both sides. Calculate what you are giving and what you are getting, then compare.
- Weight beats rarity. Because weight is squared, a heavy common crop often outvalues a light rare one.
- Watch for stacked environmentals. Ten small mutations add up to less than most people assume.
- Never trade outside the game. Real money deals for Sheckles or pets break Roblox rules and there is no way to get your items back.

How do you calculate crop value in Grow a Garden?

It can. Weight is squared in the formula, so a crop at three times its base weight carries roughly a nine times bonus before any mutation is applied. Heavy plain crops regularly beat light mutated ones.
Does this work for Grow a Garden 2?
Yes. The value structure is the same, so entering a GAG2 base value and weight gives correct results. GAG2 also adds crop decay, so water plants before selling since decayed crops lose value.
Why does the calculator ask for the base value?
Because hard coded value lists go stale every time the game is patched. Reading the plain sell price off your own screen guarantees the starting number is current, which makes the final result reliable.
What is the friend boost in Grow a Garden?
Having other players in your server increases sell value in steps, commonly ten percent per friend up to a cap. Select the matching option in the calculator to include it.
